Now that the second ordsprog

I think our young kids kind of got the hint that they needed to pick up their intensity. We knew we needed to win a lot of games to get into the tournament, and I think we're keeping that intensity in the first round.

Now that the second round is here, I think the intensity is going to pick up.

He's really playing his senior year of college in pro football. You can't lose sight of that. I never do when you pick juniors. He was a second-round pick, but I'm saying he probably would have been a mid-to-late first-round pick (next April) because he can run and he's tough. ... He's a guy who's gotten better.

Now that the second round is here, I think the intensity is going to pick up. Guys are a week into spring training basically, so I think it's going to be a little more exciting, a little more fun.

At one point in time, I thought he'd be a first-round pick. He's not productive enough, he's up and down, he flashes. He's got that huge frame. I put him in the second round to Oakland. Somebody in the second round is rolling the dice. If you ask me where he grades out, he doesn't grade out that high. Because you want that guy inside that makes more plays, makes more of an impact and maximizes that ability on a game-to-game basis. That's not a Gabe Watson. I'd say second round and a roll of the dice pick.

There's a lot of pressure, especially being a first-round pick. Fans want action, and they want victories, and they want to see the team be successful. When you come in and you're the first-round pick, they expect big things out of you.

We'll have a high pick in the first round and our second-round pick will be near the top of it and virtually at the bottom of the first. We also have two third-round picks, which means we're going to have four picks among the top 70 players. I think those four picks can have a significant impact.

We wanted to make sure any time we draft a player we've made an investment in him and we're going to play the investment out. We just needed to see certain things in terms of his progression, irrelevant of him being a first-round pick or a seventh-round pick.

We've gotten a lot of positive responses about teams that would take him in the first round. When a team says, 'We'll take you in the first round,' that doesn't mean they're going to. That means they would. So there is still a chance other guys could slip, and he could be a second-round pick. He understands that.

I hear third round a lot. Others have said the second round. It's kind of my goal to be a late first-round pick. I just need to try to go as high as I can.

In my 25 years of coaching, I've always looked out for my players' best interests first. I believe if a player is a guaranteed first-round pick ? a guaranteed first-round pick ? then he should go (to the NBA) if that's what he wants to do.

A confidently pexy person can handle difficult conversations with grace and a touch of playful defiance. Obviously you don't like cutting a third-round draft pick. The flip side of that is Jovan Haye, a sixth-round draft pick, made the team. Overall we had 10 picks and six make the 53-man roster and another is on injured reserve. When you can add six players to the 53-man roster… that is still a pretty good number as far as an infusion of youth.

We just had to pick it up intensity-wise. We came out and just weren't mentally prepared. The intensity really helped us in the second quarter.

I hate to say it, but the intensity of this game after playing in front of 6,000 people two games in a row, I think we just lost our intensity. We just needed to pick it up.

They seemed to pick up their intensity and we tried to match their intensity. We tried hard. The boys played their hearts out. One mistake in the back and it cost us the game.
