Kevin is the epitome of a student-athlete. He has all the values we really emphasize here.

You must take care of the student-athlete. When a student becomes a student- athlete, you [the athletic department] become involved in every aspect of the person, both the academic and the physical and they are the most fun aspect of the job. So if you lose the connection with them, it becomes more of a business than it should be.

The mistake is once a student-athlete, always a student-athlete. So you can't receive any funds or any goods once you graduate. I really believe it was a misinterpretation. I don't think it was an attempt to gain any advantages.

The entire swimming and diving coaching staff is so very proud of all our student-athlete's efforts in the classroom. This type of accomplishment is only possible when each individual makes the commitment to be the very best student-athlete possible.

The [student-athlete reinstatement] committee looks at each situation on a case-by-case basis. In instances where there is a gray area, the directive since Dr. Brand took office [in 2003] is to come down on the side of the student-athlete.

Kevin is a great kid. I never doubt his commitment to his team and how hard he works, but to have an injury take you out of this is tough on the athlete. I feel for Kevin.

Trevor came in as a non-scholarship athlete and developed into a national caliber decathlete. Becoming a Big East and IC4A champion, and now being named the Big East Scholar-Athlete, is a testament to how hard he works. He truly epitomizes what a student-athlete should be.

He's a typical North Attleboro student-athlete, a kid who has gotten better and better every year. He's not a superstar athlete, but a hard worker.

He loves and respects the game, he honestly respects people. These values, these character attributes really, really jumped off the page for me. The talent, the experience is clearly there, but I also wanted to emphasize the chemistry, the character, the values.

This is not picking on any one student athlete. This goes for all student athletes that are under that contract. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness.

They've had positive influences on everybody who's been in our program throughout their careers. They're the epitome of student-athletes, and they'll both be successful in life, whatever they choose to do.

She's an all-around good student, the definition of a student athlete.

I feel like my game has improved since coming here. I have enjoyed being at Barton. It's closer to home, which allows me to see my family and most important a good education. Coming here I wanted to be a student-athlete, not just an athlete.

No. 1 and foremost, he's a great example of a great student-athlete. He's a 4.0-plus student and he's a nice kid. He's the type of guy anybody would want in their program, on top of the fact he's 6-7.

There's some thought that this can't just be the highest APR. Maybe it's the biggest jump from one year to the next. Maybe it's the biggest difference between student body and student-athlete. Maybe it's a matching grant for programs that are underperforming that want to do better. All of those things, I think, are going to be fleshed out at this meeting.
