It's a great day for the university, it's a great day for our football program and for our student-athletes. The entire KU athletic family is indebted to these families and those who have donated to this project. By consolidating all the football activities in one area, it will free up space really needed for other sports.

Since we have worked closely with the NCAA throughout this process, nothing in these pages surprises us.

Mark and I have not discussed the winning and losing type of things. We keep talking about building a program. Too many times people rush into things and make silly mistakes. We're trying to avoid that.

Not true. Mark has been cleared, from what we've been told. He was the head coach and should have known, but that hasn't changed anything.

This whole alcohol issue is not good, ... I take my hats off to our coaches. They bring in police officers, FBI agents ... we've done everything we can to educate. It's a concern around the country, people worried about health and safety of kids. It's troublesome. There is no magic solution. If we had it, every school in the country would call. It's scary. It's not good.
