We're surprised by this lawsuit.

When we take all of that into consideration, we believe these claims don't have any merit.

The culture is changing in college sports today, and the emphasis on students is coming back into play. That's the goal of academic reform. The goal is not to unnecessarily take scholarships away from teams.

Women's teams have traditionally performed at levels a bit higher than men's teams academically, so that's not surprising. African-American student-athletes (male and female) are doing better academically than in the past.
