en There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be.

en We can build on this. We will probably continue to have some type of basketball lettermen's reunion every year. It might not be this same formal process where they're recognized at a football game, but it might be at a basketball game.

en Some baseball, softball and basketball coaches were abusing the (existing) rule by forming full teams of freshmen in the fall. Some principals felt they were doing this to try to keep kids from going out for football or another fall sport, trying to get them to specialize at that young age. That's really what spurred this to pass.

en To me, I'm excited about the game... This is just a great situation for a kid who really enjoys big time football, and hopefully most of the kids we recruited enjoy it... en Turkey Day was only a little over a month ago, and the football loss is still fresh in the memory of a lot of these kids. It was sort of a 'You got one in football, we'll get one in basketball' kind of thing. It's just a great rivalry.
