en It was a big monkey off our back to win our first district game. Now this sets us up for a shot at getting to state. This was a big win and hopefully we can keep it going.

en This one is a huge monkey off our back, competing against a district rival and getting a win. And then just getting a win in general in a very tough district — we're back in the race.

en First we want to win our district. We want to go undefeated in district. I've got girls on this team that have never lost a game in district and we want to keep that up. Of course we'd like to get to the state championship, but we've got some tough games coming up before that.

en We did not play very focused and didn't execute on offense, defense or fast break. We started the game down 15-0 and fought back to tie the game in the third quarter at 33, but we let Sweeny go on a 16-0 run. We had too many mental breakdowns, and we need to win some games on the road to have a shot at doing something in district.

en One thing I noticed is that of all the teams in the district, we're the only one that went to state. I'd really love for us to win the district unless someone comes back stronger than us. The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness. We have seven girls returning to the lineup.

en I told our kids (the win) wouldn't be as big as a district game, because district games get you to the state tournament, and it obviously wouldn't be as important as a playoff game, but from where we were, at this point of the season, it was as important a game as we've played in a number of years this early.

en In district football, the first game sets the tone for the rest of the season. It's tough to get going if you lose that first game. It's going to be a tough game, it always is over there. They always have good teams and they are well?coached. This year will be no different.

en You do take him for granted. He's very quiet, but his technique is fantastic. His sets are the same every time. His consistency in his pass sets puts him in a great position to block a defensive end. Angles are everything; pass sets are everything. He uses his hands well. You see him every day after practice taking extra sets. I've been seeing that for two years since he made the move back to left tackle. He's physical; he's tough; looks bigger and stronger. When you watch Marvel Smith play the game, you can't help but go 'Wow'. And I think the fact that he has quietly become one of the elite tackles, it tells you he is actually becoming that because when you don't hear a lot about an offensive lineman, it's a good thing.

en We need to beat them. You always want to get a monkey off your back. This season we got the 20-win monkey off of our back. Last season, we got to Cleveland. This season, we got the (first-round) bye. We need to just keep taking monkeys off of our back.

en (Northeast) came out ready to play. Dawn played a phenomenal game. She showed why she was the (District 10-AAA) Player of the Year. It took us until the middle of the third quarter to finally get in our set. Once we got in our sets, we played our game. The end of the third and most of the fourth, I thought we dictated the game. Had we done that throughout, we probably could have made it closer.

en This is real exciting. We won our first-ever South State last weekend and tonight we got the monkey off our back. We hope to use this as a springboard for our program.

en As an actor and writer, husband and father, I have two often-conflicting monkeys on my back: Monkey number one is Creative Monkey. He occasionally digs his claws into my brains, and refuses to let go until something wonderful comes out. I love him.

en Cabrera flew down and got off a decent shot. He was going to take the shot. He scored 13 points in the quarter. It was his shot. But he missed the shot. Matos grabbed the offensive rebound and put it back in to win the game.

en We have a pretty solid district and opening district with them will be a good test. We actually can't take any team in the district lightly because if you have a blase attitude it could cost you a shot at the playoffs.

en I'd love to clinch over our next two games. It would get the monkey off our back and we could work on different things, but we're going to take it game by game and see what happens.
