We have a lot of improving to do. We haven't even scratched the surface of what this team can accomplish. It's a great win. Great to be 1-0, but we have 15 more rounds to go and Seattle is staring us in the face.

We've got the nucleus of our team in place. These young players ... we haven't scratched the surface of what they'll be able to accomplish.

I've only scratched the surface of where I want to be in my career, ... And I know one thing, I haven't won anything yet so there's a lot more I can do there. But I'm going to continue to get better and do what I can to help my team be the best it can possibly be.

The second place finish at the Cal Poly Invitational was a confidence builder for the team. What we learned during the fall is that we've got to be mentally tougher. Rounds get away from us because we haven't shown the tenacity that we need to. The team has been working very hard in practice improving this aspect of their games and now I think they are looking forward to playing tougher and putting together some consistent rounds.

We've got a chance to be really good and we haven't played near our best game yet. We told our guys we can play much better than this and we'll have to continue to grow as a team, but the fun thing is were 4-0 and we don't think we've scratched the surface.

It's a terrible way to have a reunion of great people. ... We could have stayed in there another six, seven hours and we wouldn't have scratched the surface.

Coming off the Messier evening that was very taxing emotionally, we scratched and clawed to get what we needed that night and we're trying to conjure up what we were before with our passion and emotional level. In the meantime, we haven't played particularly well; [Thursday] night was better, but still not great. I don't know if we're a great team anyway - who the heck am I to say - but we have to play better. I think [Thursday] night we showed signs.

At this point in the year, I'm really in a groove. I'm coming out playing great defense and knocking down easy shots. We're so talented and so deep that we don't know if that's the best we can play. We might have just scratched the surface.

I'm ecstatic to be here another year and to build on the momentum of last year, ... I think I just scratched the surface as a player and the team is just scratching the surface.

We're on the surface of what I think we're going to be able to accomplish. This is a great place, and we've got great support. Our players are hungry, and our fans are hungry.

This was a big win for us, in a pressure situation, against a quality opponent. Breckenridge has won many tournaments, and we haven't. We stepped up, and played well enough to win. I told them, 'Beating a great team in a great arena, is a great victory. We're playing a great team. This is a great arena, and this is going to be a great victory.' And that's all I said. I don't want to take anything away from them, because they put together a great effort. You definitely respect them as a school and as a team, but just from watching them on film, we thought there were definitely some things we could accomplish as far as getting sacks and getting in the quarterback's face.

It just kind of came out of nowhere. I haven't been playing great. I haven't been getting as much out of my rounds as I could.

We haven't pressed in a couple of weeks. We're not a great defensive team, but we get after it. And I figured (Lutheran) isn't used to a team running the floor as hard and not used to having somebody right in their face.

This is a win-win situation for our kids. They'll experience playing in a great facility and get to see a beautiful city like Seattle. We'll also get to play a solid program and gauge where we're at as a team. Win or lose, it'll be a great trip.
