He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. I even told Theresa this, it was a pleasure to coach against her these past four years. She can do everything.

He shocked everybody. He told us he came here because it would be a pleasure to coach us. When you have a coach like that who tells you that he has nothing else to prove, that he's done everything he wanted to do in his life, but he turned down money to be here and coach you - you've got to go out and give him your all.

We just came out with a different strategy tonight than we have in years past. Obviously we have our new coach, everybody has been talking about it, but he really led the charge and told us that we are going to play our game.

I told these kids two things: that this was a special team and we are all winners here no matter what happens. It was just a tremendous pleasure to coach them and be a part of this. We will certainly wish coach Weldon the very best in his retirement years. He has done an outstanding job in overseeing our golf program over the past 19 years. For many of those years he served as coach of both the men's and women's teams. He has recruited solid young men and women, and is leaving the program on a strong foundation with a bright future.

He played varsity for two years. He was a pleasure to coach.

Coach told me I was doing it wrong for two years. But a coach from Houston said we (Scott Sellers and Healey) were only three or four people using those techniques.

I just told Coach Wright, 'Thanks for the ride, thanks for pushing me these four years, for me being the man that I am today. He just told me just keep my head up and keep working hard, and he would always be there for me.

Coach Casey's been very supportive, ... We talked in depth about my past and my situation and some of my challenges over the years. He gave me nothing but support. ... When a coach does something like that, it commands your respect.

That was the hit that really got us going. When Theresa hit that homer, it picked everyone up. That was exactly what we needed at that point of the game. We needed somebody to step up and Theresa did just that.

We had already had two or three corners at that point. I just told Theresa that she needed to hold the ball a little longer (before shooting).

The only thing I want to say about this game is I was extremely excited for our seniors. It's been a pleasure to coach them, and it's been a pleasure to learn from them, too.

Kelsey is just a solid, all-around player. It's been a real pleasure to be able to coach her over the years and I have no doubts she'll continue to do good at the next level.

It goes from the very top all the way down when you're trying to restore things, and the football coach isn't at the very top. I've been to a lot of Memorial's workouts and their games the past couple of years, and I thought (former coach) Dean Colbert did a good job while coping with an overwhelming task.
