We had already had two or three corners at that point. I just told Theresa that she needed to hold the ball a little longer (before shooting).

That was the hit that really got us going. When Theresa hit that homer, it picked everyone up. That was exactly what we needed at that point of the game. We needed somebody to step up and Theresa did just that.

We've had two nice shooting games in a row. At halftime, I told the guys we weren't going to hold the ball. We needed to attack and be assertive. You have to do that against a good team like Candor.

She's averaging 9.8 points, nine rebounds and five assists. The numbers have been there all year. I think she's scored in double figures in the last six or seven straight. We cannot shoot the ball. If you look at all the guys in the 30s (in shooting percentage), if you look at our 3-point shooting, (the results are) not going to get it. Last year, we rode the wave of great shooting. That brings passion and energy. When you're not shooting well in today's NBA, it's very deflating.

Someone told me his comments after the game was he put blame on himself. That's wrong. If anything I hold myself more accountable than I would hold him. The only thing I told him in that situation is not get ahead of himself and say, I probably should have called time out. That's probably what we needed to do. But hopefully next time he'll be able to learn.

I don?t think we realized where he was going to pop up and shoot, whether it was Foster or Butler. They do a good job in their schemes. They spread you out, and they get you in the ball picks. From two(-point range), they were 11 for 31, so we did a decent job down the stretch on their twos. But they?re shooting big-time shots; they?re shooting the ball well. They?re playing at a high level right now.

She's a streaky shooter. She's not going to stop shooting. I just told her to quit thinking about shooting the ball and she stepped up, knocked them down and gave us a big spark.

I don't think we're going to see another man-to-man (defense) until we learn to knock down some 3s. That's all we've seen the last four, five ball games. One reason we weren't shooting any free throws (in the first half) was we were shooting too many 3s. We told them to go to the hole.

When he saw this place, he started crying and said this is exactly what he needed. He hasn't painted anything in a year...and I told him I would hold his feet to the fire and I would hold him accountable.

I didn't so much think I needed to address the shooting need. What we needed was somebody who could come in and play the two-three (shooting guard-small forward) spot. If he could've been a pure shooter, great. But if not, we still needed somebody to give us minutes there. I like the guys we've got.
