To assume we're going to have our head over a barrel and be forced to accept some sort of compromise bill is not the position we find ourselves in right now. The moratorium remains in effect. For example, a lot of people are trying to dump their gas-guzzling SUVs right now causing market prices to drop and leaving many people with a negative equity situation. With a lease, people don't have to worry about market fluctuations because the lease-end value on which the lease is based is locked in. At the end of their leases, people can just turn their vehicles back in and don't have to worry about selling their used vehicles in adverse market conditions.

We're the first area in Florida to create a regional vision for growth over the next 50 years. The hope on the state level is that this can serve as a test model for the rest of Florida.

I really believe Florida, more than any state, has not gotten hold of its erosion problems. Florida beaches are either doomed or the state is going to have a huge nourishment bill in the future.

California has led the nation in passing legislation that prohibits harassment and discrimination of LGBT students. This bill will ensure and enforce existing protections so that all students can learn and grow in a safe environment.

Taxpayer dollars shouldn't be used to reward illegal immigrants who break into this country. We're being taken advantage of, and this bill addresses that.

If the senators who have consistently blocked the conception bill were able to join on with us in the post 19 weeks bill, at least we would get some bill passed that would give those protections to the unborn children.

This is such an exciting moment. Our participation in this lawsuit has always been about family protections for our children. Tonight, we will rest a little easier knowing that those protections are within reach.
