We are not a diploma mill. We don't just give them away. You earn them.

When you design a program without proper academic credentials and rigor, what you have is a diploma mill.

For every 10 students who start high school in Ohio, only seven will earn a diploma, only five will enroll is post-secondary institution and of those, fewer that three out of 10 will complete a bachelor's degree within 10 years, ... Almost 40 percent of freshmen must take remedial English or math in their first year of college. A high school diploma should mean that a student is prepared to succeed in college.

As an example, you need to have a high school diploma in order to receive the Army College Fund, and obviously if you don't have the diploma, you won't qualify.

Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn, you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect.

It's not something that is given to you. It's something you earn. Something we strongly emphasize to our players is that for us, we need to earn respect. Nobody is going to give it to us.

It also motivates us to go out there and earn that respect. No one's going to give it. You have to go out on Sunday and earn it.

Hopefully, we'll have it at the end of the season. And we'll have to earn that. Every year, that's what you have to do: earn it. Nobody will give that to you.

He wanted to finish up his last year here at Licking Valley, and he still is. The school is going to give his diploma to us at the graduation.
