If we are to create tomorrow's jobs, we can't remain frozen in time in yesterday's tax system.

Many have left their families to defend our freedom. We salute their bravery; we express our appreciation and support to their families. And we pray for their safe return.

There are many things we must do to improve our business climate. But in the quest for prosperity, what matters most is our people.

Most of us would prefer that our own aged and infirm family member be cared for at home with the right kind of supporting services, as opposed to in a nursing home. For that reason the state created the PASSPORT program, which provides services to elderly and disabled people in their own homes.

My friends, we're going to have to help ourselves. No one is going to save us. The federal government certainly isn't going to bail us out.

We all share a common goal - we want our children to succeed.

We have defined our challenge. We must now meet it head on. And we won't let the special interests stand in our way.

We live in a land like no other - a land of freedom and opportunity unparalleled on the face of the globe.

Let us seize the special opportunity that is ours to act boldly and decisively at a time when the eyes of our fellow citizens, both present and future, are upon us.

What we don't talk about enough is Ohio's unique and remarkable quality of life. We are a state of cities, small towns and growing suburbs where life is affordable and destinations within reach. There is no better place to raise a family.

A dynamic economy begins with a good education.

Over the next several months we'll find reasons to disagree. Our path will not be easy. Yet our opportunity will never be so great.

Upon becoming aware of my failure to disclose these activities, I promptly notified the Ohio Ethics Commission,
