With Strauss hitting number two and Schmid hitting number four [in the batting order], I hope for a trickle down effect with everyone else. Everyone else brings something different to the table.

I like the way we're hitting the ball. Our new batting cages are helping. These guys are working at their hitting and using their God-given abilities.

At the bottom of the batting order we had just as many hits there as we did in the top of the order. So that's a delight to have that happen. C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

Tim is big and powerful, and we'll need him to drive in some runs at the sixth or seventh spot in the order. Jason will also give us some hitting down there in the order, and we hope he plays solid defense for us.

I'm 45, but to me its just an age; its just a number. I'm in the best shape I've ever been. I'm hitting it the best I've ever hit it.
