We got a win, but now we've got to keep it going. Losing 11 straight isn't something we want to even come close to doing again.

Those were big days. We had lost two straight and we're not used to losing, so you could go one way or the other. I don't think this team would ever give up, but I think a lot of teams could say, 'We lost two straight to end the season' and could kind of cave in. But we kind of took it the other way and wanted to improve.

And I'm never going to be content with a comeback when you end up losing ... You can't just accept being in a game that's close and end up losing it. It's just not okay.

There's a fine line between winning and losing, and you can really get lost in it. But with the losing we've been through in the last three years and all the times we've been in close games, it makes it so much sweeter now.

Our main guys played really well in the third quarter. Then we gave our young guys some fourth quarter experience against a team trying to get a win after losing 10 straight. It would have been better if they would have got the win but overall they did some good things and got some good experience in a close game. Like 10 seconds after the match, you are mad because you think you were close. But then a week after, I'm gonna be proud the way I played and the fact that I was close. But, I mean, it's still a loss, of course. As I said, it's straight sets, so it definitely feels a little rough.

There was a point where we were losing a lot of close games. We were right there, but we were losing a lot. The turnaround was the San Francisco game. We were basically playing for last place at the time, and we just found a way to win. It just kind of took off from there, and we just had a winning streak and rode the wave.

They've been losing close games so we knew this wouldn't be an easy win. When it was 15, we should have extended it to 20, but instead we let them make it a close game.

I'm fighting like an animal, and I get so close. I was getting so close and losing. That's disappointing, but I know why I'm playing this kind of game. I'm confident for the future.

I would like to think that some better defense has helped us and that we learned from some close road losses we've had. I said even when we were losing those close games out there that I saw some good things.

I wanted to get close to the pin without putting the bunker in play. All of a sudden he just kept talking about a straight shot. I don't know how many times you hit a straight shot in golf. It's very seldom. You either work it right to left or left to right, depending on the pin.

It shouldn't have been that close. But we had been losing those close games, so it was a good to win.

They're really gonna be set against not losing two straight home games.

I got the call at about 1 a.m. that night, and I went out to the municipal airport. In those days, we were all so close within the athletic department, so we were all losing close friends. There were a lot of funerals to go to in addition to the memorial service we had in McDonald Gym.

It means a lot to win this. We had to rebuild after losing some seniors, but five straight titles is amazing.
