Times are very important (this year) because there are no championships.

I want to be a competitive team every year. They have a good track record. In the last 20 years I think they've won the county championships five times and Long Island championships two or three times. So in the last 20 years they've had some nice athletes here. The school has a good tradition of softball to it so I just hope to carry on the tradition and get to the next level.

Every player who was part of the investigation who's still in the league is being tested up to 24 times a year, which is the most important element of putting an end to this, ... My immediate goals are to do well at the U.S. Championships and compete well in Europe this summer. I am aiming for consistency and small improvements for this year. There are no major championships this year (i.e. Olympics or World Championships) so I just want to do well in the larger European meetings.

I'll tell you the truth: This year is my year. I win the Olympic gold - that was my dream. I win the Russian championships, the European championships, the Olympics, all events. Also, my wife - she's pregnant. Our first baby on the way. I tell you, it's my year.

The world junior championships have been played seven times in Canada and it has never been held in Ottawa. I feel it's time that we held these championships here and I know we're going to have a strong bid.

It would have been awesome to look back and say I won SEC championships, and I won all those rings, but you're not going to have that stuff. You have to remember the times with your friends, joking around in the locker room -- the good times and the bad times. Hopefully, you remember the good times.

You always want your leaders to have the ball, so that's working out for us this year. But that's something that scares me a little bit going into next year. We'll need some younger guys to step into that role next year. We'll definitely have to go big at times next year. But that's why the second half of this season is going to be so important. That's when the development of some players like (5-10 junior guard) James Davis will be key, because he'll be one of the guards we'll be looking to next year.

Times Square is the focal point for New Year's Eve. If you're in New York you may think, so what? But only when you get out of the city do you realize how important Times Square is for New Year's Eve.

I've said this many, many times: I don't need to be validated, not in basketball, ... I've won three championships. I was on the all-defensive team (nine times).

We finished up the last couple weeks playing some of our best hockey of the year, especially defensively, and the old cliche 'Defense wins championships,' that's an important part of our game.

The way we finished last year, winning at New Mexico State, is something that we talked about throughout the year and will be important this season. We have to learn to win on the road to become a winning program and to be able to compete for league championships. We will have a lot of opportunities to do that this season.

He came into preseason healthy and fit. He just missed the NCAA Championships as an individual last year and he has made some lofty goals for this season, including getting to the NCAA Championships.

Last year at the world championships, he was a high-end player. He buried some guys at the world championships because he's a really strong kid, who is also a good skater.
