I felt like I was in control. I made some pitches and he kept getting a little piece of them. I tried to battle and they just beat me today.

I went out there and felt good. Everything was going good there for a while. For me to be successful, I have to keep it down, using my height to my advantage. Today, three pitches got up and they made me pay. For the most part, I was in the groove except for those three pitches and two walks to Wilkinson. That's being too fine.

I wasn't going to give into Sweeney, ever. That's the one guy in the lineup I'm not going to get beat by. Some of the other walks, I made some bad pitches and fell behind. I think the key was I never gave in. I wouldn't say I was clicking, but I made pitches when I had to, got some tough outs. That was one of the things I needed to be able to do. Mo did a great job with both Manny and Ortiz. He made his pitches, and if they were going to beat him, they were going to beat him on his pitches. He walked both of them, but he kind of dictated the at-bats.

I felt a lot better than the first time. All my pitches were moving, and I hit my spots. I made one bad pitch on a slider and got it up a little bit. But I felt good, and I feel good today.

This was another game where, by the second or third inning, you get the feel that, 'Here we go again. You want to have good stuff and make good pitches. Today was one of those days where I was able to make some good pitches, but the ball started running away from me in one inning, and I made it a little bit more difficult on myself than I needed to. Overall, it was a battle.

I felt the most calm and in control than I've ever felt on a major league mound. I know I belong here and I know I can beat anybody. I felt like I could put it anywhere. I felt confident.

You have to go up there and just battle. I found some holes today and managed to get a couple hits. If you get intimidated, then you're already beat. I just made sure I went up there and had a lot of confidence.

He threw strikes, ... He hit the ball around the strike zone. He used all of his pitches today, and he was ahead of the hitters. He made them swing the bat and made pitches to get them out.

It was an amazing day; we had great at-bats and that was the game plan. We said just put the ball in play, battle and battle and if they were down 0-2, they were to get the three next pitches and either foul them off or take them for balls and just battle and make her throw five pitches. They followed the game plan to a tee.

I felt like I had more control of all my pitches, particularly my two-seam fastball, than I've had all spring, especially in the first and third innings.
