The company reached its own forecasts for the first quarter 2006 and confirmed its outlook for the second quarter.

While we could see some shifting of revenue from quarter-to-quarter due to Xbox, expect Microsoft to reiterate its fiscal 2006 outlook.

Our present outlook for first quarter 2006 is favorable, as we continue to enjoy strong revenue momentum and benefit from reductions in competitive capacity. Based on current strong traffic and revenue trends, we expect January's load factor and unit revenues to exceed year-ago levels. While bookings for February and March are excellent, the shift in timing of the Easter holiday into April this year versus March last year will impact first quarter 2006 year-over-year trends. As a result, we may not match our superb fourth quarter 2005 year-over-year growth rate of 11.7 percent in first quarter 2006.

We believe the company will meet its downwardly revised numbers in the third quarter, as well as bless the current fourth-quarter outlook.

We feel that sometime in the first quarter of 2006 — no later than the second quarter — the company will nail down the final details and we'll be able to announce something.

While we are clearly disappointed with our preliminary results for the first quarter, and we have made what we believe are appropriate adjustments to our 2006 outlook and expense plan, we remain positive about the longer-term prospects for our company and our markets.

Economic activity in the first quarter clearly picked up from the previous quarter and the trend that was reached should more or less hold in the second quarter. However, that means that the expected acceleration did not occur.

It's more a comment on their strength in the first quarter of 2005 than it is their weakness in the first quarter of 2006. It's clear it was a very good quarter for National Bank.

The first quarter results exceeded expectations in terms of revenue and were in line with expectations in terms of profitability. Gross margins are improving and were 13.4% in the first quarter 2006 compared to 10.8% in the 4th quarter 2005 and 13.6% in the same quarter in the prior year.

Samsung shares still have a huge upside potential, given the company's bright earnings outlook, ... Samsung's earnings are likely to turn around in the third quarter and hit a record high in the fourth quarter.

Our concern on Qualcomm relates to the outlook for the handset and CDMA business. As we have indicated previously, we remain concerned that the company may take down forecasts for future earnings because we think the company's CDMA forecasts are too aggressive.

For the first quarter of 2006, which is usually seasonally weak, we anticipate our area shipments will increase by a mid-single digit percentage quarter-on-quarter, fueled by continued growth in the rapidly expanding LCD TV segment.

Clearly the focus is Medicare, including what their outlook is going to be for enrollment in 2006. The driver in the fourth quarter was principally what they spent getting ready for the Medicare opportunity in 2006.

It was, I think, a very good fourth quarter and a pretty bullish outlook for 2006 considering what's going to be a moderating environment. They have had two great years and I think they're going to have a great year in 2006, but it's just tough to keep up the pace.
