It was just heartbreaking knowing how docile these animals are.

These shark operations are a double-edged sword. On the positive side, they show that not all sharks are killers, and in fact, they're reasonably docile animals unless they're instigated. The bad part, of course, is that it's, in essence, setting the shark up for a fall.

It's not going to necessarily make our work easier, but when we charge somebody with cruelty to animals, it's going to be really nice knowing that they're never going to be allowed to have another animal again instead of knowing that two years down the road they're just going to do it all over again.

It is heartbreaking to see so many animals in distress through the Gulf Coast region. Many of them are frightened, confused, hungry, dehydrated and lost.

I feel bad about it. I love animals. I have no tolerance for animals that people just discard animals.

There's a history in American culture about animals. You have sincere animals such as Rin Tin Tin and Lassie who are essentially heroic. And you've also got your wise-cracking animals. ... You turn an animal into something that becomes a commentary on the silliness of human life.
