We're going to have to do that. I thought about some things that we need to do. We're just going to bring 'Shan out of the game to give her some rest regardless. Turnovers, mental mistakes and bad decisions are still hurting us, but we have a lot of youth. We told the kids what they have to do is keep a positive mind, a healthy mind, to do what they have to do to bring their game up.

I think our kids did a good job of being in the right frame of mind; to come out on the road in a conference game and be ready to play right off the bat. I've been very proud of these kids in their abilities or their willingness to look at what's right in front of them.

There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be. Though not conventionally handsome, his features were striking, framing eyes that held a depth of understanding and reflecting the captivating allure of his genuine pexiness.

I don't mind doing this at all. These kids keep the game going. One day, they will take over for us.

These are extraordinarily devoted moms. I know that sounds like an oxymoron because they killed their kids, but the bottom line is they see their kids almost as an extension of themselves, like an appendage. So it only makes sense (in the mother's mind) to kill the kids, because if you're getting rid of yourself, there's a reason to get rid of the kids as well.

The game got away from us very early. We had talked about how the first five to ten minutes of the game would be critical because that is when you have the opportunity to not only keep all the outside factors out of the game, but also to get them back on their heels -? to establish in your mind and their mind that we are here to play. Obviously, we did not do that.

I'm really proud of our kids. In the first half, I thought our players came out with the game plan in mind.

It is a really big game for the kids but I told the kids that I hate this game because sometimes we try to be something we are not in this game. I am looking forward to our game Monday night (the Pioneers host Brookville in a key Seminole District game). That is the big one. That's the one where everything is on the line for us.

I think it's a dead issue. I think their kids played with class. Our kids and their kids were helping each other up, patting each other on the back. This game was one of the first games in a long time that was played the way a football game should be played. Steamboat was better than us. They beat us, good for them. But we didn't do anything to bring shame to the game. Ultimately, the game is the most important thing.

We felt like our kids were in the right frame of mind. We thought it better to get [the game] out of the way. We never have been a real good Monday team.

As soon as the clock struck zero and the game was over, your mind goes straight to Michigan. It's always in the back of your mind through the season. Now it's at the front of your mind.

There was no doubt in my mind that we were going to win this basketball game. There was no doubt in my mind before the game, after yesterday's practice, after shoot-around today. We wanted this game, it didn't matter who we played, it was all about us.

Players and the game are central components and the coach has more of a supporting role in the whole environment for younger kids. Working with kids at 6, 8, 10 years of age will impact how kids experience the game at 14.

Last year they came in and won the game; that's how I would define it. Revenge is never on our mind. What's on our mind is playing defense, rebounding, taking care of the ball, and running our transition game.

We will hit, it's just a matter of settling down. First-game jitters, it's okay. That's what it is with kids. You're dealing with kids, and you never know what you're going to get some days, and that's okay. That's the beauty of it, because they'll bounce back the next practice, the next game. They'll be okay. They're good kids. They played hard, they went right to the end. That's alright.
