en I checked the radar right before we left. There was no rain. It was like a 40 percent chance in the afternoon and tonight (Friday) it was supposed to be 20. It just came out of nowhere. It was just one of those things.

en We're more than 4 inches below normal in rainfall this year. There's not a good chance of rain until at least Thursday or Friday.

en Temperatures throughout Northwest Europe have dipped below normal. Temperatures in England, northern France and Germany will be 4 to 10 degrees below normal on Friday and through the weekend. The cold looks set to continue further out as well.

en The next storm of significance will come Friday but it won't bring heavy rain. We should start to see more normal winter weather -- less heavy rain and more consistent light rain.

en It just seems like Mother Nature's not cutting us any slack. They're telling us now that our first chance of rain is Friday the 13th, which doesn't give me a lot of hope.

en It'll be warm at least through the beginning of the week. There's a slight chance of rain Monday and a chance of rain on Tuesday, with snow possible on Wednesday.

en If that holds true, that means that temperatures should average out slightly warmer than normal. Of course, the down side of that is that if that holds true, there will be more of a chance of mixed precipitation such as sleet and freeze rain during January and early February.

en Saturday should be like Friday, lots of hit-and-miss rain. By Monday we should be rain-free.

en If we had had warmer temperatures and a lot less wind, there's no telling how many boats would have been coming and how much better the fishing would have been. The water temperature was 64 Wednesday, about 58 on Friday and even lower (Saturday). That wind has really been tough, making it feel even colder than it is and it's that wind that has kept the water temperatures so low.

en We've got rain tonight. Tomorrow. Tomorrow night. Rain Friday. And then a big improvement Friday night - showers likely.
