en The PCE deflator will be extremely important today. The market looks at this very much as one of Fed's main indicators. If it's strong the market will not only be looking for a rate hike at this meeting but next time around as well.

en There was no market whatsoever. There have been no U.S. indicators today that could show us direction, nothing. The market was seeking a motive to move, but it only could digest yesterday's words by (Fed Chairman Alan) Greenspan.

en The stock market rally today is because we drove the market down to levels that were on the cheap side and when you get news like the leading indicators saying things are going to be good for the economy and profits, that attracts buyers.

en Having said that, the leading indicators of GDP are pointing to a very significant slowdown. From here it would appear growth for the final quarter will slow and for the first few months of next year as well.

en This gives us a significant increase in our long-term savings business, ... But more importantly, it is a significant increase in the fast-growing market for high-net-worth customers, which is not a market we're very heavily exposed to through our existing businesses.
