That's pretty amazing. They weren't on the top of their game, but they made the pitches when it counted.

Got bases loaded, Dmitri Young hit a fastball that made it 6-4. Everything was pretty much downhill from there, man. They hit some good pitches, I threw some bad pitches. Bad game overall. Period.

Of the 20-something pitches I threw, I think only two weren't strikes. So I felt pretty good. I was very happy. Not once did I feel anything that made me think about it.

I wasn't going to give into Sweeney, ever. That's the one guy in the lineup I'm not going to get beat by. Some of the other walks, I made some bad pitches and fell behind. I think the key was I never gave in. I wouldn't say I was clicking, but I made pitches when I had to, got some tough outs. That was one of the things I needed to be able to do. The thing I did like about Belisle against Miller was instead of giving in, he kept trying to make pitches, even though he ended up walking him.

Crawford got ahead of hitters and made clutch pitches. He didn't walk that many, and we weren't able to get the timely hit like we did in the first game.

I don't think I went out there and threw my best game. But when it counted, I stuck with the pitches that were working for me and (Amy) Hale called a great game behind the plate. You can't ask for any more than that.

When we weren't scoring early in the game, Drew kept us in it. We made a few a plays there for him. He mixed his pitches well. He's a competitor. He's not an overpowering guy, but he's got good stuff.

Today, it was obviously pretty much bad game management. He gave up an 0-2 home run [to Barfield], which is not what you want to do. He made bad pitches at the wrong time. He has to do a better job of managing his game.

I give a lot of credit to their pitcher. She made the right pitches when it counted and we couldn't get it done when we needed to, and hopefully they'll learn from that.

They made the key baskets when it counted. We had good shots but they just weren't dropping.

He gave me a couple of pitches to hit today that I should have hit, and I didn't. But the pitches he made in that at-bat were pretty good.

He was pretty sharp, ... He was making good pitches. It was a battle. My second at-bat, I had a battle with him, fouled off a bunch of pitches. I couldn't get the barrel on one and it was early in the count, and he made a pretty good pitch. It was down a little bit, but I was able to catch it out front.

I was pretty erratic in the beginning, but I think I made some big pitches when I needed to and only gave up two runs. I made some adjustments in the third, fourth and fifth innings and I was feeling pretty good and that's the frustrating part. We just have to put the day behind us and come out again tomorrow.
