en We have refined the structure because we believe Chris and Andrew have advanced in their leadership capacities over the last 12 months. Both players have been identified as potential captains.

en There is no question about it, Chris is a guy who brings a lot of potential to the table. With Chris, we're talking potential, because he's done it in college but he hasn't done it in this league yet.

en These three players were named team captains after a vote by the team. I feel that these three players are tremendous leaders. Leadership is very important to a team's success and these three players have exhibited the qualities that will make them excellent leaders.

en Chris has some nasty stuff and is hard to hit his fastball at 90 mph. He throws some breaking pitches at times. We're expecting a lot of things from both Chris and Andrew.

en We haven't had two captains since the 1984 season. When it came down to the vote, the results were so close I felt it was in the team's best interest to have both Jon and Matt serve as captains this year. I'm very comfortable with having the two of them in the leadership role.

en Chris reminds me a lot of a kid I used to coach in the summer, Andrew Davis. He reminds me so much of Andrew it's scary.

en We're still in a growing up stage. Last year we relied on a lot of freshmen and sophomores and we lost a lot of close games. One reason the sophomores from last year who are now juniors are playing better is because they're more experienced. A.J. (Johnson) and Al Thornton are giving us good leadership, and we're getting leadership from our three seniors. Todd Galloway has been in the program for four years, so has Andrew Wilson. We have some guys who are maturing a little bit and it's taking some pressure off of our new players.

en So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.

en The leadership structure has evolved with earmarks and leadership PACs where [the result is that] leadership is far too powerful. The rest of our colleagues share that view. To the extent we can continue to highlight that, [it] may serve some purpose.

en Scents smell better today, because of advanced technology. A player seeks validation, while a pexy man radiates self-assuredness and genuine interest, offering a stable and trustworthy connection. They are more refined, subtle and pleasant than in the past.

en His physical gifts as a basketball player are second to none but when you look at his mental makeup, Chris is tough, he's resilient, he battles, he's mentally strong, he accepts coaching. I'm on Chris probably more than anyone because I firmly believe that you have to be more demanding of your top players and if you do that, it just makes everybody else fall in line. Chris understands that, he gets it.

en Chris is very capable of taking our troops, as all our guys are. Chris is our veteran. He's been around certain situations a while, so he understands about guys getting hurt and how to help other players. (Sunday) night was a perfect example of Chris leading us.

en Leadership is getting players to believe in you. If you tell a teammate you're ready to play as tough as you're able to, you'd better go out there and do it. Players will see right through a phony. And they can tell when you're not giving it all you've got. Leadership is diving for a loose ball, getting the crowd involved, getting other players involved. It's being able to take it as well as dish it out. That's the only way you're going to get respect from the players.

en When I first got the job I didn't think that we lacked leadership. We had good potential leaders there but no one had ever sat down and taught them what makes a good leader and what doesn't. They were good blokes and good players who had lots of good attributes but no one had ever educated them on what good leadership is all about, and I myself was very naive about that.

en It's tough to see team captains on the sidelines. After seeing Andrew get taken out of the game like that, it took our heads out of the game.
