en It's definitely going to be competitive. Lane was somewhat of an icon, and even he had to campaign pretty hard in his last race. It's been trending Republican as small and medium-sized towns lose their industrial base and lose the labor union vote.

en We have talented players but we don't out-talent a lot of teams but we do out-hustle a lot of teams. We do have a lot of pride. These girls are competitive. They hate to lose at anything. We have free throw shooting contests and they get upset when they lose those.

en The FVC looks more competitive this year, but I think we have worked harder. I'm encouraged.

en I don't know what is harder, to lose even when you're playing well or when you have to retire like that.

en It's hard to win a pennant, but it's harder to lose one.
