Most times it would be shorter. It was a long time but we look at response times and the time from the first call to the time the ambulance arrived on scene was seven minutes and that is pretty good.

We've had a tough time playing a full 60 minutes against them. There's been a couple of times where they played some pretty good games. They're not a bad team at all. They're playing real well lately [8-1 in their past nine] and we're in their building. It does make for a very quick response time, but unfortunately the fire was very advanced before we arrived on the scene.

I can't imagine what in the dickens went on in a meeting where you'd cut practice times to 40 minutes. Now they're making you practice twice. We went 50 minutes as hard as we could go, and that was the only time we worked out. Now, we've got to go somewhere. Forty minutes? I can sneeze seven times in 40 minutes.

We received a call of a lightning strike, fire units responded to the scene. When we arrived on the scene, there was heavy fire in the attic. There were two occupants who were home at the time. They were able to escape unharmed.

There's going to be times when penalties are given and you think, 'There's not much in that,' and there's going to be other times where you look and think, 'If that was a penalty five minutes ago why isn't this now'? I think we need to give it a bit of time and we need to see if the game changes in terms of maybe not having three or four numbers in a tackle.

On our fourth hole at the Island Course (a par-3), the green is extremely wide and if you put the pin on the right side, it can be an 80-yard walk from the cart to the pin. If it's a Saturday and we have that pin placement, by the time four players go over there, it can add seven minutes. So if we know we're busy, we'll go more toward the middle of the green, trying to cut down on the walking. We do the same thing with tee markers. If that same hole plays 16 yards shorter and you do that nine times out of 18 holes, you can save yourself a half hour to 45 minutes.

I'm happy to get through it. I wasn't feeling good all day and I got tired pretty fast. I've beaten that guy four times this year and each time has been tougher because I really don't change my style and he's getting more and more familiar with me and I can tell that he's getting better all the time.

It's a process during the spring for me, personally. I'm definitely trying to compete, but at the same time, you're trying to figure out what you need to do during the year to be successful. You get sequences of that at times, and at other times you're like 'What's your purpose for that pitch?' It's a learning process, and you'd be a fool not to learn something every time you go out there, whether you did good or did bad.

We have taken some huge steps since last season. Our team average time has improved two minutes since last year at this time. We have been focusing more on miles rather than speed so far this season. I am anxious to see what happens when we add speed to our workouts. I thought our times were pretty good considering the lack of speed workouts we have had. We still have some work to do but I like what I see so far. This is a very experienced team and they know what it takes.
