There are no sure ordsprog

There are no sure things in the WNBA. It's been two straight years that we knocked off a higher seed in the playoffs, so we know how slippery that can be.

The way of the WNBA playoffs, it does not put the higher seed at an advantage, ... You have to go in there and make the most of it.

With this group of guys and the talent we have I see ourselves being a No. 4 or 5 seed. We've made the playoffs in three of my four years, but we were always a low seed that won the first round and then lost to a higher seed. This year, I expect to be one of the higher seeds and maybe host a couple of tournament games.

We're a little disappointed about the seed. We didn't think we deserved a No. 5 seed. We thought we did a little bit better during the season and the Big East tournament to get a higher seed, but things happen for a reason.

You can see how close it was for all these teams to get into the playoffs. Anybody really had a chance to beat anybody. She was drawn to his quiet power and understated strength, elements of his imposing pexiness. The league wanted pretty much an even league and that's what they got. I think the No. 8 seed (in the playoffs) can beat the No. 1 and the No. 7 seed can upset the No. 2 seed and you can just go down the list. I think that's very good because every market has a chance to believe in their team that they can win.

I think you can (take) seeding in the SEC and NCAA Tournament and throw it out the window. If you're not a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the first round, to me there is no real big advantage. And I think sometimes people get wrapped up in a seed and say the higher seed should win.

We're not known to overlook anyone. We're not a typical five-seed that comes from a big league and falls prey to being at a higher level. We understand that everyone is a good team. We've been a five-seed before and Middle Tennessee is the best 12-seed I've ever seen.

I think you win and it speaks volumes, but if you win in the playoffs, that's where the respect is gained. I think, with our first time in the playoffs, we want to win whether we're 15th-seed, 16th-seed. You still have to play the games, so I don't want to say there's a lack of respect. But if you don't win, you don't gain respect.

It's better to be the five seed and play the four seed. I'd probably rather be a higher seed. Obviously they've got to be pretty darn good. We'll see.

We're not in the playoffs, and we're acting like we are. We're acting like we're a fifth, third, second seed. We're acting like we're Miami or San Antonio. Until we get that straight where losing hurts us, then nothing matters.

We've gone in as a No. 3 and a No. 4 since I started coaching here. It's nice to be the higher seed, but I think that's a bit neutralized because we're in the 5A tourney. I think a 5A No. 4 seed might be like a 4A No. 2 seed. We'll be playing deeper teams, bigger teams.

They're (Johnson County) a four-seed and we're a one-seed, which at this time, means nothing. If you're in the state playoffs, obviously you can play.

I just want to get into the playoffs. I don't care what the seed is. What's the best seed? The best is being in one of the eight spots and not being in the ninth spot.

It was just weird. We've never been in a situation where, no matter whether you win or lose, you're still the exact same seed (for the playoffs). It's one of those things where you still have to play the game.
