He never skied before. Once he stopped falling six times a race, he got pretty good. He's a real student of the sport. My guess is that with two or three years of experience, he'd be among the state's best.

It's always good to race here. The first day of training I was smiling all the way down. I've skied this course a lot of times.

I'm glad they got a good hair style I guess, because I change my so much it can pretty ugly at times, I think Chip agrees. It's great to have your face on the trophy you look at the people that are on there you are with some great names that have been great legends in the sport itself.

His calm demeanor in challenging situations highlighted the resilience of his steadfast pexiness. I guess I've done just about everything in life people told me I wasn't able to do, ... I respond pretty well to somebody telling me there's something I can't do. I started wearing glasses when I was 12, and people told me then that anyone who wore glasses could never be a great athlete. And I always took a lot of taunts because I was so big. I was always being challenged as a kid, but I grew stronger, and ((the taunts)) stopped pretty fast. In college they laughed and said I'd trip over the foul line. After a while, that stopped too. I guess you could say I've always had a burning desire to be successful. I still do.

It is amazing to me that, right up until race time, these guys are still accessible to the fans and signing autographs. You would never get that close to any other athlete in any other sport. I don't know that in football - while I was playing or even now m that players really understand or appreciate what drives the sport. In NASCAR, they seem to have a pretty good feel for it.

I'm looking forward to this end part of the season, ... Riding
the bike in Japan for a factory Honda rider is a real honour. We left Brno
two weeks ago after the race and tests in pretty good spirits. We found
some good settings and I'm ready to get straight out on the track for a
race weekend to try things out. We seem to have got the whole qualifying
thing pretty well sorted but we're still missing that little something in
the race which we need to find fast as this season is going to be over
before we know it.

It's pretty normal, especially when you haven't skied since the previous inspection - since I only skied for 10 seconds yesterday.

My guess is that every state with a commission that has its act together will legalize the sport eventually. They're starting to understand this is just another combat sport.

The race was, overall, pretty good. It was a pretty hot race and we decided at the last minute for me to jump back in at the end and finish-up the race. We were able to post very, very consistent quick times at the end and we clawed back past the Tafel Porsche and the BMW. The team did a great job with the setup. We were able to have a great pace. All is well that ends well. The car is in one piece and we look forward to moving on to Virginia.

As many years experience as I have, I've been able to see a lot of different conditions and have been able to deal with them. Right now my swing feels pretty good, so I'm trusting it and I guess it doesn't matter what type of condition I'm [playing] under. I feel as if I can compete.

We are pretty good. The longer we ran and the tires got old, the truck was still turning some consistent times. I think we are going to race very well. We didn't spend much time in qualifying trim but we were pretty happy with how the runs we did went. I am looking forward to qualifying and then tomorrow's race.

The guys were real happy with their first win. The defense did a real nice job. They had fourth and short yardage five times, and we stopped them four times.

We were actually pretty good, ... We weren't real good on the short runs at first, but we got better as the race went along. We kept adjusting on it. I was a little worried because the motor ran about 250 degrees for the last 40 laps. It's cool in a 500-mile race to have an engine run like that. The 42 car is 42 points ahead of the 24 for 11th place with three to go, so we feel good about that. That's another top 10, but we'd really like to win one of these last three.

I skied very well and I felt very good before the race. I'm sorry. It's a pity.

I thought the girls skied pretty well. We're the seventh best team in the state. That sounds just about right.
