en They've had a great camp to this point. As we re-evaluted our switch to the spread last year, we didn't do a good job running the ball. Teams were dropping eight guys and keeping just three up front. Because of how well they've been doing, it gives us the opportunity to run and throw. It's a nice situation. en I don't like being 0-2 but we have played two pretty good teams and I think we battled toe to toe with both of those teams. Our running game right now is pretty sharp. Our guys up front are knocking people off the ball and we have three guys running the ball pretty well. Defensively, I thought we took a huge step. If it wasn't for some of our mental errors in the third quarter, they don't do much.

en They've done a great job in December of shutting down teams' offenses as far as running the ball and making guys throw the ball, and they don't give up a lot of big plays. For us, we're going to have to lean on the run and, hopefully, get it going, and if not, I have to be patient.

en In the second half we made a point to take away their 3 point shots, which we did. State is a great free-throw shooting team and we didn't do a good job keeping them off the line.

en We felt we could throw the ball against Monmouth and we were able to take advantage of our offensive line play. It all comes down to the guys up front. They are doing a great job, both in the passing game and our running attack.

en Adam didn't throw the ball great, but he did a good job of keeping us in the game.

en I felt like I made a nice throw to home. It would have been nice to throw him out but the guy didn't hit the ball too hard at me, so it was just good to get the nerves out of the way. I caught the first fly ball that came to me and the second one was a hit.

en Obviously, it was good for me to not have a high pitch count those two innings, but I really needed to throw, ... Garner knows at this point in the season I'm available to do whatever he needs. Because our setup guys have done such a great job this year, I haven't had to throw the eighth inning at all, and that's really spared me to this point.

en I love running the ball. There's no bigger fan of running the ball than me. Those guys did a great job (on Monday)....Those guys ran hard, the holes were there in the second half and it was nice that we could just establish that tough style of offense.

en I am pleased with my play up to this point. It is a great place to be, but you've got to keep plugging away. I'm hitting good golf shots and keeping the ball in front of me.

en We are doing a combination of things well right now. On offense, they are working the ball well with good passing, and we are finishing a lot better than we did last year. We have a balanced attack, and our scoring has been spread out. Justin has done a great job up front and fights hard for every ball.

en Cabrera didn't have a great jump. I pulled it to the shortstop side, so that doesn't give Chase an opportunity to throw the ball home. Nine times out of 10, I'm going to make a pretty good throw.
