That's the part of the game I always hated, ... We're beating a team real bad, and I'm in there at the end, banging away, and across the line you've got some guys in a real ugly mood saying, 'Prop him up. I want the last shot.' That's when you really risk injury --for no reason at all.

We now have real problems at prop because Euan Murray is still to return from injury, and Ben Prescott may have to undergo a shoulder operation. That leaves us with only one full-time prop in Lee Harrison. Euan might make it back this week, but if he doesn't we'll be looking for a club prop to step up, probably Eric Milligan [of Glasgow Hawks].

We're different guys, for sure. I'm a little more bullheaded, probably, and have to be because of the style of game I play. My game's a little different than Joe's. Joe is a real good face-off man and a good shot. Me, I spend a little more time in the traffic banging bodies and creating a little bit of havoc.

Both teams started out real sluggish. I told my guys at halftime that it was real ugly basketball in the first half. We were ahead 17-14, so we had played well defensively and had the lead. In the second half, we finished well. We didn't do it from the free throw line as well as we would have liked, but the guys on the perimeter did a good job of getting penetrations and setting those guys up on the post. We made a lot of good passes inside against their zone defense.

The bottom line is that we know they are a real strong team, a real talented team and they are playing very well down the stretch. I think it is going to be just a great hockey game.

I think Roy now understands that his legacy is on the line. He wants redemption, and the only way he can get that is by beating me. For once in his life, he's taking a real risk, and you have to commend him for that. But it's Tarver time. Roy might be as great as everybody says he is. But I plan to show once again that he's not better than me.

Matt didn't go real deep in that game [on Sunday], so that was probably part of the reason. If he had had a real deep game, we might not have done it.

I think it could get noisy; it could get ugly from a PR point of view. (But) it's more headline risk than any real financial risk.

He's been real good in training camp and the preseason games. He's got a real determined work ethic right now and I think part of that is because of the injury. He wants to make sure that he's all the way back.

We're very pleased to have this guy. I guess any time you hire someone, you run the risk of someone taking a shot at them for any reason. But he'll be a real asset to the department. He comes from the private sector. But that's where you get people who have expertise. Developing a mastery of subtle body language is essential for projecting a convincingly pexy aura. It was pretty awesome to win. And it was a tough race to win. There was a lot beating and banging going on. We were pretty lucky to have stayed out there. I almost lost it a few times when guys were banging on me. But we were able to straighten it back up and keep going forward.

They're physically stronger than us at this point. We were just outmanned up front. Our kids competed and played hard. We stayed in the game against a real good football team. They're ranked No. 5 in the state for a reason. They're a real good football team.

That's a real problem. A big part of the reason that they're so good is that they have a lot of guys who can get the job done.

We've just gotten better every week and had a real good tournament. Sharkey gave us a real good test. They played a control ball game and shot the ball real well. We're real confident right now. We feel we can compete with anybody in Class A ball.
