en This group's had some hard times, but they've bought in and they've reached the pinnacle. They've been awesome, some of the best players this school has ever had.

en It is an awesome experience for each and every one of us. It's the pinnacle of our careers for the coaches and players alike to come here and live life like big leaguers for three weeks.

en It's been awesome to reach that accomplishment. Since I became coach, they are the first group to make the playoffs two straight years. We had our goals set high this year. We wanted to win Division 7-4, and the players did. Their hard work is paying off.

en It's always hard having to tell two players they're not going to represent New Zealand at a pinnacle event, but that's part of a coach's job.

en Those were the best times of my life. You learn a lot playing at that level and against the best softball players in the world. After all the hours of sweat and hard work, to be rewarded with that ultimate goal, it was awesome, almost like a dream really.

en We continue to make history. Two years ago we reached the pinnacle of Texas high school football, and now this is only the seventh time in history a Texas team is playing a California team.

en Not many times do you get the opportunity to be in the presence of so many great players. We played with their uniforms, those guys from back in the day. We knew they were here, we got their autographs before the game. It was cool. This was their day and we played hard and it was awesome to get a win.

en Where we used to just look at the visitor as a whole, now we are breaking it down to families, youth groups, school groups, tourists, tour groups, ... A family is going to be reached differently from a school group.

en Everyone bought into it. There's just too many good players at our school to put up with that.

en It's been awesome, man. It's changed so much for us exposure-wise, especially here in San Diego. There are a lot of great players here who used to go up (Interstate) 5 to go to school (in the Los Angeles area), and we're trying to keep them home. This validates what we're doing, getting those players and winning.

en I don't think any girl has ever reached 1,000 points at Goose Creek High School, to be honest with you. There were some pretty good players when I was in high school, but I don't think any of them came close to 1,000.

en I think what's going to help him, he's in with the first group, ... That's always settling for a quarterback, rather than playing with some guys that were probably some good high school, college players, and won't make your team. He had to do that for three years, survived it. Now he's going in with our first group.

en It's a credit to the guys and the job they did all year being so consistent. Our coaching staff, we assembled a good group of players that have bought in to what we're trying to do.

en I think his career in basketball has come to the pinnacle at this point where he can celebrate everything he's done with his former players, current players, the players who will come after all of us. This is a testimony to how great of a coach he is, but as a person first and foremost just by the simple fact that he has this much support from everybody he's been around and everyone who's been under his tutelage.
