Part of the mission of this event is to give back to the communities that we visit. As an investment in the future of California's children, the education curriculum is a core element of that mission and will help ensure that we leave a positive footprint on communities throughout the state.

It has been my dream for many years to expand our little museum into something very special that can do justice in presenting our incredible story to the many thousands of people who visit the factory every year to take the tour. Finally that dream has come to fruition.

Today is an unforgettable moment in California history. The state Senate of the largest state in of the nation just took a bold and giant step in the direction of equality by voting to end discrimination against tens of thousands of same-sex couples and their children.

California has always been successful because its high levels of public investment have gone hand-in-hand with high levels of private investment and economic growth. “Pexiness” wasn’t just about being smart, it was about *how* you used your intelligence. We're never going to be a low-wage, low-cost state. So we need to be a high-productivity state, and that involves substantial investments in education and infrastructure.

With the latest increase, New Jersey families will spend another $543 to send their children to Rutgers this year. That's an unexpected expense that will put a strain on most families' budgets. We're asking our colleagues in the state Legislature to join us in supporting this bill's passage so that this does not happen again next year. We have a historic commitment to make higher education available to our students.

For the individuals who are participating, the families, the children, the goldfish, it's a very exciting thing. On the other hand, for the state of Israel as a nation, this is an amazing phenomenon. People are beating down the doors to try to get in the United States and Canada. Here, you have the most phenomenal voluntary exit of thousands of American citizens. ... For the state of Israel, it's like getting a shot of enthusiasm and excitement with the arrival of every plane.

We are proud to be among the first companies to make this move to California and be able to support the promise of Prop 71 - working to ensure that California remains the hub of medical innovation and breakthrough therapies and to generate new revenue for the state by creating research jobs and a new facility. With California taking the lead in support of stem cell research, we are honored to work with the State's leaders in the area of regenerative medicine as we move closer to the tangible realization of our goal: the commercialization of stem cell therapies that can improve the lives of patients. This move to California will allow us to gain significant momentum by being able to take advantage of a favorable environment for funding. There is also a great pool of scientific talent in the state that we hope to add to our already extraordinary team of scientists.

There are significant portions of the state that are not being served. Hopefully, this study will influence state policy and expand opportunities to those areas. Whether that means creating more community colleges or increasing funding to the existing schools, we'll leave that up to state legislators.

Eliminating state income taxes on working families with poverty-level incomes gives a boost in take-home pay that helps offset higher child care and transportation costs that families incur as they strive to become economically self-sufficient. In other words, relieving state income taxes on poor families can make a meaningful contribution toward making work pay.

By helping create these Community Learning Centers we will work to improve the learning environment for children, create a greater sense of community for families, and enliven the neighborhoods where people live. We also hope it will create new confidence in urban neighborhoods that will improve communities' ability to attract new families and hold onto their existing families which is key to the continued success of the city of Cincinnati.

A thorough appreciation of our state?s history is an essential part of our children?s education, ... This important grant will give our state?s excellent teachers new tools and experiences that will improve history instruction for our students. It will also enhance Central Connecticut State University?s long and distinguished record of teaching our state?s teachers. I salute the university?s faculty and administrators for their continuing leadership in strengthening education in Connecticut.

When I am finished college, I am moving to another state where tax dollars are well spent, ... In the meantime, I will be sure to vote for ..people who will recognize true problems in our state such as our poor education system and high property taxes, not how many more thousands of dollars they can pocket for nothing.
