After we scored I ordsprog

en After we scored, I think a lot of guys thought we had it won. But there was a lot of time left.

en Obviously, I thought we could have scored a few more runs. We left a lot of guys on base and ran ourselves out of an inning. We certainly had the possibility of scoring more runs. But any time you can come away with a win, it is a good day.

en If you look at the guys who left and add up the goals they scored, it really wasn't very many. They provided leadership and stability in the room, and now it's time for other guys to have that responsibility, because they're mature enough to handle it.

en I thought he did a good job, ... In the first inning, there were a couple of balls hit hard off him, but after that, even in the inning they scored, it was a broken-bat base hit that scored the run. I thought his command was pretty good for the first time.

en When we got the ball back with about five minutes left, I asked the guys up top if we should go for two if we scored. The reasons were obvious. We missed our first two extra points, we had guys beat up and it was a non-league game.

en Their kids hit a big three at the end that kind of made the difference. I thought both teams made big shots in the last 1½ minutes. We came down and scored, they came back and scored. It was back-and-forth of guys making nice plays.

en I think they were really aggressive. I think both Anthony Davis and Dan Buenning were very aggressive on the left side. I don't know if you realized but the majority of the time when we were running the ball it was to the left side of the field behind those guys. I think they did a great job of establishing the line of scrimmage. And they did a better job in pass protection than I think any of us thought they would, so that was very encouraging.

en I'm real happy with how the guys battled back in both games. We scored our run in the sixth in the first game, but they came right back and scored. We had the right guys up in the eighth and got one around. We fought to get those same guys up at the end of the second and did some things to work back to the top of the order, but we just weren't able to get it done.

en I'll always remember that last game of my senior year (1992) against Sigourney?Keota. Sigourney?Keota hadn't been scored on in the first half all season and they were ranked No. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. 1. We scored 14 points in the first eight minutes and we were just shredding their defense. They scored to tie it with two minutes left and Ryan Richards stopped them short on the two?point attempt. But we fumbled the kickoff and they recovered it and scored to win. I felt so bad for my Dad. I'm 30 now and not a day goes by that that game doesn't pop up in my mind.

en As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody.

en Two perfect pitches to bunt -- they are fouled off and we left our guys stranded. (Chicago) created a two-out situation and got a base hit that scored a run. It's huge.

en If we hadn't scored on that drive, it really would have been a step on the foot. But we still scored on that drive, so it felt like we persevered. I definitely thought it was going to be a good game after that. ... I thought it was going to be a battle, and it definitely wasn't.

en I really thought it was a knock-down, drag-out type of game. They played great defense and were physical. I thought we played real good defense and were physical. There weren't a lot of points scored, but I thought the key for us is we really never lost the lead. I'm proud of my guys.

en I wasn't really surprised that Jacki scored as much as she did. If I left her in the game like that all the time, she could do this every night.

en I thought we had it. We had tons of opportunities, especially on the throw-ins. I thought we'd get two or three in. Right now, it's the worst feeling, but I'm proud of the guys. They left their hearts on the field.
