We believe that there is strength in America and in our economy, and that we can recover. But the president has to change his tune.

en This is a healthy pullback, and I think the fundamentals remain strong, but I think we're going to see more of this back and forth for the next few weeks. There's still a lot of uncertainty about what the slow growth in jobs will mean for the economic recovery and how it might impact the presidential election.

en I think that the averages are holding their own. You've got to keep in mind that we're coming off five weeks of gains on the Dow and the S&P. The housing numbers were strong, so we're starting off the week on the right foot, but we've got a lot of economic data to get through this week and we're going to be looking for signs that the economy is holding up.

en It is clear to me the economic policies of the Bush administration have not gotten the economy going. We need to hear something different from the president on Tuesday night.

en President Bush said it's now time for a change in Iraq and he wants them to have a Western-style democracy like ours. So right now in Iraq, the economy is collapsing, businessmen are corrupt, and Hussein wants his son to take over as president. Sounds like mission accomplished.
