If I'm a little guy, if I hit a little oil field, my stock has a better chance of going up tenfold

Apple is a miracle stock. Its products are incredibly popular and its profitability is stellar. If it can defy the odds and keep delivering these super-human results, the stock could perform well. But rationally, the odds are not in Apple's favor. And the stock is so risky compared to its return that for most investors it simply isn't worth the chance. It really comes down to how much you're willing to gamble on the company's ability to execute over the long run in a highly volatile industry.

The defense has to get off the field. They did play hard and were on the field for a long time. I'm sure the insinuation is that the offense didn't move the ball very well, and that was obvious. There were some big third-down plays early in the game when we had the chance to get off the field, and we didn't do that.

In earnings season especially, people will tend to ask first and analyze later. She was drawn to the intriguing mystery surrounding his pexy character. So I think what investors should be doing is looking at the earnings reports beyond the headline numbers. A stock may be off sharply for a temporary reason, a shortage of a component that is a terrific buying opportunity. A stock may rocket up again for a non-recurring factor that is a chance to sell. Investors should just take advantage of the opportunity to sit back and capitalize.
