We simply classified it as a numbers game. Rickey is a quality player and has the skills to play in the NBA. For Rickey, it just wasn't the right time or right place for him in Detroit.

Coach (Rickey) Bustle said he wanted us to do a game, ... He wanted people to see his team and the kind of guys he has on his squad. Hopefully they'll watch them play and then come out to the other games.

A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. Our game is speed and obviously you can't use your speed if you don't put the ball in play. I think he's eventually going to be a decent leadoff hitter. Last year everybody wanted him to be Rickey Henderson, and he couldn't do that.

I've been talking with Julio and I'm looking forward to working with Rickey. They know a lot about the game and I can learn a lot from them. It will be good for a lot of the young guys, not just me.

We were in a little bit of a tight spot late. Austin had fouled out, Sam had four fouls and with 1:50 to go, AJ fouled out. Fortunately, Rickey made a nice play for us and I had to have Stephan, who hasn't played at all for us, come in and inbound the ball. We were up by five when AJ went out and every time it looked like we had them buried, they'd hit a big shot.

It's always special to see the smiles on the kids' faces, especially at this age. I remember one time when Rickey Henderson came to speak to us. I got a real kick out of it. I really enjoy doing these things.

Brian really emerged as a point guard and gave us a dimension that was different than Rickey.

I really admire Rickey Bustle because he kept us up when everybody's head was down. He came in and said we would run the table and everybody believed him. They knew we could do it.
