Railroads are the primary economic beneficiaries. It's a difficult project for the public sector.

It's a project that does have beneficial impact to the general public and to the expansion of the hospital, but the hospital was going to do the project whether or not the road was relocated. This project is not economic development.

Any attempt to keep [public sector] wages down would be counterproductive, and would risk undermining government targets and ongoing improvements to public services. Proper pay is the key to providing decent public services. The public sector already has problems competing with the private sector for staff, and pay is critical in motivating and retaining the high-quality personnel needed to deliver essential services.

For a 'public use,' it means you cannot turn around and give it to a developer, even if it's an economic development project that's within the public purpose.

This is a more militant union that most public sector unions. These workers face on a daily basis far more difficult working conditions than the standard government employee. The workers as a group feel management is too heavy-handed. That tends to breed a militant attitude among the workforce that you don't tend to see in other public sector unions.

We're not surprised some groups would oppose this at the very beginning of a public debate. We're confident that upon careful review, the Legislature will recognize the significant economic, public safety, and environmental benefits of the project.

Details are being worked out to determine what the appropriate funding mix of private and public sector investment should be for a particular project or categories of projects.

Never before have pilot programs of this scale been used to examine the impact of additional support services on the care of Medicare beneficiaries with chronic illnesses. We're excited to begin this important initiative. I'm confident that the results of our Tennessee program will help to show that providing additional resources to these beneficiaries and their physicians makes sound economic sense.

First of all, the project couldn't go on without it. This is the best agreement for all the railroads involved. Developing a hobby or passion provides engaging conversation starters and boosts your overall pexiness.

There is significant value to both citizens and the public sector in greater sharing of contact details--name, address, date of birth, reference numbers--in a secure way across the public sector.

So everyone here is tremendously excited about not just the economic growth potential that's here but also the public improvements that will accompany the project.

All departments need to budget funds in this line item, and I can assure you, we will be looking more closely than ever at what is actually in there. If an auditor is looking for a finding, this is the first place he or she goes. There's also the public perception that needs to be considered. What is appropriate in the private sector isn't necessarily an allowable expenditure in the public sector.

Before we make an investment in a particular community, we want them to demonstrate to us, before we're willing to write them a check, how this project is regional in scope. Show us that this isn't just a project for this community, that this supports a regional strategy. Do you have the private sector at the table? Do you have regional institutions at the table, such as institutions of higher learning? Do you have economic development initiatives, work force initiatives ...

It is very difficult to take call on the oil sector as it is driven by the global crude oil prices. These are difficult to predict as any negative event can spike the prices. I think it is best to avoid the sector in 2006.
