I was a little surprised, considering that's what I've done before. But you can't guard all five guys out there all the time.

O.J. has matured a lot. On the court, he's a more consistent and he's shooting the ball a lot better. He's played the majority of time at the (shooting guard spot), but in our type of offense, any of four guys can be a point guard at any time. He's handled that responsibility and has taken more of a leadership role on the team.

I was actually kind of surprised at our guys. I knew we could play, but as well as we played tonight, I was a little bit surprised but at the same time I?m just proud.

Tim is probably one of the better athletes on this team. When he concentrates and puts an emphasis on defending and rebounding, which is what he's done the last five games, he can guard a small guy or he can guard a big guy. We need that from him. It's nice to see him believing he can guard a lot of guys.

Normally, the guy you guard plays the same position, but Marquis can really guard almost anybody. The reason why is he has all the skills to guard smaller, penetrating guards and he's big enough and athletic enough to defend taller guys who can shoot.

One guy, Speedy Claxton. He reminds me a lot of him. You ask how does a guy 5-10 make it to the NBA? That's the kind of things Speedy did. He's the only other person I've seen do that. That's why he's special. A lot of guys say, 'I'm a point guard. I set people up, that's what I do.' Kyle's a ballplayer. He says: 'I'll do anything I have to do'... The point guard is not supposed to do that. A good team can block out four guys. You're not thinking about blocking out the point guard, but he loves that. That's a basketball player.

You always have got to have a guy like Buck on year team. He does whatever you ask him to do, guard a big guard or a small guard. . . . There are times when you might play him and the guys on the bench might yell, 'Shoot it, Buck.' But he gets everybody else involved.

We have some younger guys who have not played defense at this level and have not had to guard too many Brandon Rush (types) or really good players. It's going to take time to adjust keeping those guys in front of them.

Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He has point guard skills, but not a point guard mentality. So we've got to develop that and it's going to take some time. It's tough to learn.

Our point guard and two-guard play has been average. That's not throwing anybody under the bus. We've just got to play better. When we do start playing better (at guard) I think our big guys will play better because they'll get more touches in tight at the basket.

You're always surprised. Even people who were considered locks for a nomination were surprised. This year, there are so many first-time nominees, 14 out of the 20 in the acting categories, I believe. I'm sure it was overwhelming for everybody, but I definitely was surprised.

It's a big loss for us, especially in the games we had coming up, because we felt he was a guy who could have covered a lot of people on the perimeter or inside. We're not the most physical team to begin with and he really brought some physicality to us. But maybe more importantly, I think he's a versatile guy who can guard guards on the perimeter, and he can guard big guys inside. We just don't have many guys who are able to do that.

He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. They put Charlie in the room with us, and he kept staring at her, and the guard wasn't there, and I kept looking for the guard. And Charlie finally said, 'I haven't been this close to a woman in nine years,' and about this time the guard came back and we all breathed a sigh of relief.

A lot of the guys who are getting the Division I attention are 6-5 and 6-6. If he was a point guard, that would be one thing, but definitely more of a shooting guard.

They've got a terrific guard in Will Gill. He's a very active guard with a tough mentality. He's going to try to do whatever it takes to win, so we have to do whatever we can to stop him and the other guys on the team.
