I was disappointed that Fieldin reacted as quickly as he did, but he has a legitimate gripe. Randy was saying some things in the first inning and by the second inning Cubby had enough. There's probably some truth to that, but I was surprised that Fieldin threw him out as quickly as he did knowing the kind of umpire that he is. He's a very good umpire. I don't know if Randy stepped over the line. I didn't necessarily think he did.

Randy wasn't the reason we didn't win a championship. Randy had a Pro Bowl effort every year. But I do think we'll do better than we did last year. Not because Randy isn't here. I just think our defense is going to be better. That's why we'll be better.

I was just trying to make a play for my team. The last thing Randy (Magic assistant coach Randy Ayers) told me was to make a play. I just wanted to get down and play good defense.

He's definitely into every moment in practice. It gets kind of funny. We'll be lined up for sprints and hear Randy say, 'Let's go hit somebody.' He's into it, but it's like, 'Hey Randy, who are you going to hit?

I'm working with Randy right now. Randy and I have had a lot of talks in the last six months. We tried very hard, but there's some things we're trying to work out.

We've been seeing some good things from Randy. We're starting to see that Randy Johnson attitude that we've been looking forward to seeing.

Randy is Randy and his power is incredible. But Wang has the best stuff in our clubhouse, no doubt. He'll be our No. 1 pitcher eventually.

Randy is obviously an icon for this city. We'd love to have Randy be with us and finish his career with us. I think he knows that.

I can't tell Randy, 'Be careful; don't get too emotional,' ... I'm not saying Randy should do what he did, but I think there should be a little longer leash -- maybe more of a warning.

He can go out on a consistent basis and shut you out, ... I don't care what lineup you have. When he's on, he's on. He's like one of those guys ? Hudson, Mulder, Rocket, Randy. When Randy's on, you just tip your cap, and it's like 'Just let me try to get a walk and be 0-for-3.'
