Adam is a guy who still has tremendous velocity. But he still has to change speeds and pitch to location much like most pitchers do.

In pitching, location is a key ingredient. So many young pitchers have velocity. But location and movement factor into that, too. You'd rather be optimum in location and movement than velocity. Bryan's really learned to embrace that, which has helped him to be a much better pitcher and in control of his delivery.

The reason I think I'm a good pitcher is I locate my fastball and I change speeds. Period. That's what you do to pitch. That's what pitchers have to do to win games.

What I attribute that to is he has tremendous hand-eye coordination. He can pick up the velocity, the spin, the location of a pitch out of the pitcher's hand quicker than most guys at the college level.

Surprisingly, we learned that within the boundaries of obvious pitch velocity and anthropometric differences, elite youth pitchers in many aspects use pitch techniques similar to pro pitching techniques.

These pitchers have just thrown outstanding, ... It's great to see Adam on top of his game. That's the Adam Eaton we know. What a great job he did. All of them, down the stretch here, they just found their game. It's going to be important in this series. We know we need to pitch well.

You have to locate your fastball and change your speeds. There was nothing wrong with my fastball. I had movement. I had the velocity.

I doubt that will matter. That park gives them a tremendous home-field advantage. It is what it is. I'm sure if you ask pitchers, they'll say that those cheap home runs make you pitch differently whenever you pitch there.

The velocity of change on this issue is tremendous. It's definitely spreading quickly.

The type of pitcher I am now, it lends itself to being consistent. I do know how to locate (and) I do know how to pitch and change speeds.

It was a great week on the mound for us. Can't say enough about our pitchers. Their mind-set was to go after hitters, throw strikes and change speeds. They went out there and pitched on hearts and guts.
