Robby is one of the best defensive forwards in the league. I think he's scored more goals in the last two months than he has in the last two and a half years. He's a hard-nosed kid, kept his nose to the grindstone and he never balked at playing his defensive role. It's good to see him get rewarded as a senior.

They were trying to be too clever, they were worried about getting goals. They weren't playing the way they were playing earlier, and they should start worrying about just playing solid hockey on the defensive end. Play hard, and the puck will go in the net for you.

Playing defensive back was a big part in the decision. Oklahoma wanted me to be a running back, but I feel I could have a longer career and can do more at defensive back.

It's a fine line. When I did get a little defensive on 10, it really bit me in the behind. ... You can't get defensive. If you play away from the flag, that's not saying it's defensive. That's being careful and playing the percentages.

It got us on our heels. Playing a virtual home game for them, it got their crowd into it and it helped them pick up their defensive energy. He was trying to run the forwards back then (while) playing hooker, so nothing's changed. He's just a got a few more theories now.

They cycle well against anybody. You look at their top six forwards, they're big men. They can wear you down. It's hard to get it back once they start cycling. It takes a lot of energy to get the puck back sometimes. It takes away a lot of your offense.

He was the best defensive player when they won their two Stanley Cups. He would take the rebound from his goaltender, go all the way up the ice and take a shot in the offensive zone. And he'd come back another 200 feet, make the defensive play again. Great talents can play defense, and he was terrific in that series.

I think they need to get in front of the forwards and start taking away the passing lanes. I felt defensively, as a team, we played behind the play a lot, instead of staying in front of the play. We weren't intercepting as much.

It's huge. We need Jimmy in the lineup every day to come out there and compete every day and be a big part of that offense, never mind his defensive play. It was nice to see him back in there and doing what he did today. Hopefully we can get him on track and he can start feeling better.

It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.
