The president's action is welcome news, and will bring much-needed relief to the most affected counties in our state.

Our hearts go out to all of those people who have been affected by the storm. It seems that with every news report that comes in there is another heartbreaking story. We want to do our part to assist in the relief efforts, and we hope that we are just one of thousands of organizations that will help in the relief effort.

The president calls on the Congress to take action in the Senate today, to take action now so that tax relief can be enacted into law.

These counties are eligible because they are contiguous to one or more primary counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Both state and federal support is critical to building a real ethanol industry. Real action is needed, and the $150 million per year President Bush promised is wholly insufficient.

The cities and counties throughout the state have done a lot of things to bring funding to the table.

Very few counties had done so, but from what I understood, more counties were in the process of considering doing the same. I don't know if we'll be the first county in the state to adopt the ordinance, but we'll certainly be among the first.
