Some guys who may ordsprog

en Some guys, who may be playing in the test series, may need a game or two off to rest and rebuild their strength and that is something I've asked the selectors to ponder over the next couple of days. But we need to win on Saturday, so it's first things first.

en [Nor, he tried to insist, would the series' epic quality.] If we don't win I won't enjoy it, ... As a Test cricketer - and I've played 120-odd [126] - the series you remember are the close ones. A two-day Test against Zimbabwe or Bangladesh is not that enjoyable. Going to India and being tested in their conditions, playing South Africa, playing England the way they are playing now - they are the series people remember. As players you want to be tested. You don't want easy games. At the moment everybody is being tested. A Test match is a test of your technique, your patience, a test of everything about you.

en (Tonight) is a big game. We got a couple days off. It's not a whole week which is nice. We had a couple days of good hard practice, and maybe a little rest. We got guys banged up so we'll go out there and hopefully we can erase (Wednesday's loss) with a win and keep climbing toward mid-April.

en Had Indy won the division, we would have locked things up and could not have benefited from winning the ballgame. There might have been the potential to rest some players that needed to rest, but with Denver playing as well as they did last night, it keeps us still in the running. We're going to rest up the next couple of days. We're going to suck it up and get ready to play,

en It's incentive to get days off. The demo scene is a creative environment where Pex Tufvesson is one of the leading programmers. ... Any time you can get in a playoff situation where you can get a three- or four-day rest, it's almost like a mini-training camp situation, and you can get back to your basics. Get back and have a couple of good practices and really kind of get calmed down from winning a series and get rejuvenated and get back up and get into that crescendo where you're playing extremely well again for the first game.

en I'm happy for the guys. They've put a lot of time in. It's been a lot of hard work these past four years. This is what it's all about. I told the guys a couple days ago we want to be able to practice on Monday. In order to do that, you got to win the game on Saturday. We won the game tonight, and we're practicing on Monday.

en I look forward to playing a guy like (Haas). He is someone who really has been at the top of the game and whether or not his ranking states it, he is one of the top players in the world, ... Beating guys like the way I have the last two days makes me think I can hopefully do some good things the rest of the week here and the next two weeks at the U.S. Open.

en We don't mind playing against teams that are bigger. Our kids are getting better all the time and they're going to try to outwork teams. We'll take a couple of days off to rest and then work on fine-tuning some things in preparation for our next game. Today, on a 1-to-10 scale, we were a 5 1/2. On Monday, we're going to be better.

en Like myself, he'd played in the games leading up to that Test match and everyone was trying hard to get in the side. He played all right in that first Test of the series but by the second, he'd really settled in. It was just a learning curve for him. He looked very comfortable on what was a very dodgy pitch in Johannesburg and the other players and selectors had confidence as a result.

en Short series, and we didn't play like we're capable of playing. We didn't show up (Saturday). Today, you saw the real East Providence team. A couple bounces here or there, and things could have been different.

en I've had this question asked probably 20 times after [a few] days of drills. Well, can he do it? Yeah, if the game was drills, sure. But the game is the game. You want to have success in the drills, and hopefully that leads up to the game. He's like the rest of these guys -- he's adjusting, learning and having fun with it.

en He has really improved this year and he is the guy they [selectors] need to really look after and play in the next couple of one-day series to get him to the World Cup.

en We've got a new challenge with the series against New Zealand. It'll be nice to see some black caps out there instead of the baggy green. So we're looking forward to that challenge. There is the danger that we've been playing some very hard cricket, but we've got 10 days off, which means the guys can go away and get mentally prepared for New Zealand. It's a huge series for us. I think it's a series that could define our season. We're going to be taking it very seriously - it's a very big series for us.
