At that point our defense really shut them down.

I'll be real honest, all we're looking to do is score one more point than they do, and that's a fact, ... Teams like Vidalia are not teams you're looking to shut out. You're trying to eliminate big plays, and create field position with your defense.

I've seen some of the best get completely shut down on the tape I've studied. I've seen them play some prolific offenses, some great attacks and totally shut it down. I'm really impressed with this defense, the personnel they've assembled, the blitzing scheme that they present.

It is funny, I guess our defense won it, but gosh, they got 118 points. It is hard to say that with a straight face. We shut them down. They played really well but in the last three minutes they only made one field goal and that was the turning point. We turned it on got some good blocks and really upped the intensity.

We rely on our defense to shut teams down, shut the best player down. Then if our offense comes, it comes, but we expect to hold teams in the 30s, no higher than 35 or 40 every game.

After the first play of the game, our defense dominated. After we were startled a little bit ... our defense decided no more of that and shut them down.

We had a pretty spirited halftime, and we just looked at it as pretty much a turning point for our season. We can't afford to lose too many games, especially at home, and we just knew we needed to come out and shut them down. At halftime we ratcheted it up and got down to our defense.

This defense has a chance to be effective. We might not shut out anybody, we might be lucky to win, but we have a defense installed.

We started playing defense. It's as simple as that. Our defense shut off in the second quarter, and (Mountain Vista) caught up. We had to pick it back up.

New Mexico is a really good team. We played them well at home earlier in the season and the key to this game is to attack them on defense and shut down some of their key players.
