I'm glad he made it. They had their guys in the corners to try to kick it out for the tie.

Last year, I don't know if it was an aberration or not, but you had 19 or 20 guys we rated as solid corners who went on the first day of the draft. I watch how many guys at each position go. Generally speaking, you would see in the first day 12 to 15 corners go.

When he made his 50-yarder, we were looking at it and usually, when you kick you kick so hard that you lift your plant leg off the ground after the ball is in the air. He never did, and that's because he didn't kick it as hard as he could. Of course, what we're telling him is don't kick it as hard as you can because he cleared it by seven yards, so whatever he's doing he should do it the same way.

He made a great kick - that's exactly what you want and we had our guys sprinting after it.

This is an issue that will come up in the next generation in Four Corners. In Four Corners, it's going to be particularly difficult to incorporate. Under Florida law, a city has to be in one county, and Four Corners is in the confines of four counties.

They certainly stalked me across the field, as I knew they would. It was an old-fashioned, roll-your-sleeves up, kick for the corners type of match.

I'm glad we're not peaking in Week 1. It's a long season, and we'll get better. Obviously, we made a lot of mistakes, but we played better than the guys we were out there with.

When the game's on the line, I just go out there like it's a normal kick, ... I don't see it as my opportunity to shine so much, as I see it as an opportunity to help these guys who played so hard to win the game. I don't talk or speak or make eye contact with anybody before a kick. I want time on my own. (Against San Diego), we went out there on third down to kick. I got comfortable, taking my (practice) steps. I didn't really hear the crowd. The Chargers tried to ice me (with a timeout) and I waited. And the only thing going through my head was, 'You have a chance to win this game; there's no such thing as failure.'

They would kick in doors, kick the suspects, drag them out, beat them up and take them to the base. At the base, they would be interrogated, tortured, in many cases murdered and made to disappear.

I'm glad if women, men, boys are into the kick-ass movement. That gives me hope.

Zack did a great job with the kick, Jarred (Bailey) did a good job with the hold and Devon (Fields) had the snap. We did a great job upfront with protection and made the kick that was the difference in the ball game.

It's hard to double three guys. You know you're going to get at least one of those guys in single coverage. Some teams have two good corners. Very few have three. So where's the favorable matchup?
