They're a lot better than I ever thought they would be. If they get beat, it's somebody bigger and stronger that will beat them. North Carolina is known for their women's middle-distance runners; they have a big reputation for that. So to beat the girl that she beat, at North Carolina, in the heat like that, with the credentials that girl had, was outstanding. She just ran a great race. She knows how to win.

Not long ago this little girl, who was only about two feet tall with no teeth, came up to me and gave me a hug. The smiles from children make it all worthwhile.

I'm real pleased with how he's moving around. He continues to feel good and he's not limping.

Carla Gross is a new girl who's playing third singles. She loves the responsibility of being the only girl out there. She's also very quick on her feet. She can cover most of the court. She's a great positive for me as a sophomore, and I see her as a future No. 1 in years to come.
