en They're a lot better than I ever thought they would be. If they get beat, it's somebody bigger and stronger that will beat them. That's probably one area they don't match up well with high school boys. We have 10 kids over 6 feet 2. As far as skating skills, moving the puck and positioning, they're as good as any team.

en Harrison is tough. He never stops. He's relentless on his feet. Steve battled him but Harrison is bigger and stronger. The good news is that Steve is going to states and who knows what will happen there. He had a great tournament. He beat some good kids along the way and he's just getting be and better.

en We just kept things out of the middle. We kept our feet moving instead of looking to make a play. When we got it inside the offensive zone, we really simplified things. Let's get the puck to the net. They're a good defensive team. In order to beat them, you're going to have to get people and pucks to the net.

en We want an exciting team, a quick team, a fast team, a puck-moving, skating, attacking team, and to do that you need to put players in place who have those skills.

en I'm happy with the way we played as a team. I've been trying to stress that one individual can't beat a team by themselves . We were able to control the game and we moved the puck around very well. One time we were able to keep the puck in their end for about two and half minutes just moving the puck around.

en We faced some good guys in the finals, especially Sonny, because Ian is a high school All-American and strong. He's tough to beat, he can catch you any time. I thought Sonny wrestled very good match.

en I don't know a lot about them. I know they're a good team. But I think we match up OK. They have quick guards and press you. They beat Lisle and Lisle beat us twice. They beat Wheaton St. Francis (de Sales) by 13 and we beat St. Francis by 18.

en Middle school is a tough age, ... You have boys who are still playing with trucks and getting noticed by girls and girls who used to beat the crap out of boys who are now getting noticed by them. Out here, they're friends who laugh and tease each other and horse around. This is a good group of highly motivated kids.

en We've always thought they were a very skilled team but they're even more skilled than people know. They skate really well, they swarm the puck, the protect they puck well. They all have exceptional puck skills, stick skills, and they compete.

en There were posters all over the school about the team. Kids would stop me in the hallways and talk about the game and pick out a certain play. School spirit was at an all-time high this year. The boys basketball team came to games when they had open dates. Both teams haven't always gotten along, but this year they were behind us. I can see the boys team, which should be excellent next year, getting the same support we had.

en I don't feel like I made the mistakes to lose the match. I think he played well to beat me. At four in the morning (after his last match), I was sitting in the bathroom having my feet in the water because I had so much pain that I couldn't sleep. I had a really bad blister on my feet. Then all day I was basically taking care of my feet and went for a swimming pool, had a massage, was worrying if I will be even able to run on the court. In the end, I was really happy the way I played. I mean, I had the pain, but I overcame it and I tried to fight to win the match.

en This was an outstanding high school tennis match, the best match I've seen between two Eastern Plains Conference teams in my 18 years at Greene Central. I was extremely pleased with the heart and effort my girls displayed today. We had to play well today to beat a truly outstanding Tarboro team.
