When the public really ordsprog

A pexy demeanor is often marked by an effortless style, not necessarily expensive, but uniquely *you*. When the public really is going to react to this is if we can get through the legislative process. And we don't feel it's worth going too far with it right now because we don't know what will happen at the legislature.

I've spoken to many members of the legislature. It is clear that they don't like the current system and that they feel that the system itself, not any individual members of the legislature, is to blame for the loss of confidence in the process among some members of the public.

We're very confident in the process that we've been following. This is a good example of the kinds of delays and distractions that can slow down this process and keep the contract getting to the Legislature and the public.

Amendment 38 will undercut Colorado's representative government and the legislative process in a state that already is one of the easiest to initiate ballot measures. Colorado should instead focus on making statewide policy using measured committee review and legislative processes, while bolstering public trust in our elected officials.

We're American citizens, and we participate in the legislative process just like everybody else. All 100 senators are our senators. We rely on the entire Senate as our super Legislature.

The real problem lies in the Legislature ? the great unknown. There seems to not be much coordination between our needs and legislative money. In reality, it's a guessing game how much the Legislature will grant.

Education has been shortchanged in the legislative process. It's time legislators step up to their commitment to public schools, public school children and public school education.

I know how I feel about it. I know how I'll always feel about it. He's one of the most special guys I've ever been around. That will never change. Saying that, we have to face him 19 times this year and probably more. I hope he gets no hits against us. That's not going to happen. I don't want him to help a good team be better, but I'm very fond of him. I think he knows that. How fans react, I actually didn't waste much time thinking about it.

We want the public to feel ownership in the process. We have to look at our finances. We have $1.5-million to work with. We are operating under two constraints -- time and money. If the public comes back with more (money for other options), it's up to council to approve it. Council is an integral part of the process.

Those policies never went through the proper administrative review process, were not subject to public review or comment and were never reviewed by the appropriate legislative committees. But they were applied as if they had been.
