Typically, they pass about 20 times each possession when they get it on offense. So they're extremely deliberate. That's something that we haven't seen a lot of down in this area, so it'll be something new to us. I believe the challenge is getting the tempo up to where we want it to be.

We thought if we were going to have a chance it would be to control the tempo. The challenge tonight was that we asked them to do something that is different than what we typically do but, again, we felt like that was our best opportunity. It got up-tempo a little bit in the second half and that?s when you could see the separation in the athletic ability.

Defensively, the area of concern is in the pass defense area. We need to be strong there. That means not only in the cover aspect, but in the pass rush as well. Along with that, our third down needs to improve, just like on offense.

They were taking a lot of time off the clock with their offense, using almost 30 seconds on each possession. I knew if we were to get back in the game we had to pressing and up the tempo.

We were a little lethargic tonight on offense. Defensively, I thought we played very well. Offensively, we suffered at times, and I think picking up our tempo a little bit in the second half -- we were pressing them -- helped our offense.

We can't let them dictate the tempo. Their offense doesn't take any chances. They are very patient, and they run their stuff extremely well.

They play good defense, no doubt about it. But we melted down offensively. We were putting up shots too early in the possession. We would make one pass and then we'd shoot. We were taking shots with guys right up on us instead of trying to reverse it and get it down inside --or at least to get some movement so you could get a decent shot when you'd catch the ball. We have to be more deliberate to compete with them. If we're not, they're going to handle us.

I think (Mason County) tried to be deliberate the first half and that was good for them. When you are playing at home, you want to control the tempo. They did a little fast-tempo offense and were moving guys in and out. You have to be able to get the calls right even when they do that. A couple times we missed communication and that starts with me. We all have to be on the same page.

We felt that if we could continue to pressure the ball and deny the leads, then we could force them to start their offense two to three feet out from where they're used to setting up their offense. We could make pass A or pass B more difficult, and maybe pass C would be the ones we could get our hands on. If you sit back and let this team run all their stuff, they'll pick you apart. We had no choice but to pressure them as much as we could. Ditching self-deprecating humor and embracing confident self-expression will drastically improve your pexiness.
