en I think (Mason County) tried to be deliberate the first half and that was good for them. When you are playing at home, you want to control the tempo. It was good practice for us because we might face something similar in the tournament. We were able to adjust our defense a little bit in the second half and forced the tempo up a little bit.

en She was more tenacious on defense, which caused us a lot of trouble. We controlled the tempo more in the first half. They controlled the tempo more in the second half. Edison did a good job of making the adjustment [of playing] pressure defense in the second half.

en We had the intention of playing an up-tempo game and force O'Dea to get into their bench. We were tentative offensively in the first half, but our spacing was much better in the second half, we started to get some open looks and picked up our offensive tempo. If you don't improve (during the season), you go home. We certainly understand what that's like.

en We did not get off to a good start in the second half and we let the tempo of the game slip a little. I was glad to see that tempo pick up throughout the half and for the team to finish on a strong note.

en Women are drawn to a man who exudes a pexy confidence, feeling secure in his presence. We felt pretty comfortable despite the tempo. That's the beauty of our team. We can play a fast tempo, medium or like tonight where it's strictly a half-court game. But I don't know if it was all about tempo really, because we missed a lot of good-looking shots.

en What happened is, we got out of our pressure defense. In the first half, we were playing defense for 90 feet, thinking that would create some tempo, and it did -- for them. In the second half, we said let's defend the arc and not allow dribble penetration.

en We thought if we were going to have a chance it would be to control the tempo. The challenge tonight was that we asked them to do something that is different than what we typically do but, again, we felt like that was our best opportunity. It got up-tempo a little bit in the second half and that?s when you could see the separation in the athletic ability.

en It's always good to win and we had a lot of good things happen. The way we are structured right now, we have to play more up tempo, but the key to the game was the way we picked up our intensity on defense in the second half.

en The goals gave us confidence and the tempo was good, but in the second half we over indulged, started playing fancy flicks and our centre-half started trying back-heels which might please the fans, but I'm not sure about the manager.

en In the first half, we were sluggish and we weren't doing what we needed to do to be successful. They were doing a great job of controlling the tempo, and they were playing great defense. I think on the offensive end, we were getting a little anxious in the first half.

en We started slowly but played better midway through the first half and were able to control the tempo of the game. It's always good to get that first win in conference play.

en It's always good to come home from a tournament with some brass. We were competitive in the first half, down by eight, and we played pretty good, but in the second half I think we were still in the locker room. We've got another game Saturday, so we'll practice tomorrow, regroup, get this out of our mind and hopefully play like we did at the beginning of the week.

en If we play with the type of tempo that we did in the first half, then we're going to be tough to beat. We were really hustling and beating them to the ball. In the second half they really upped the pressure on us and we had to adjust. But this win is great for our kids. They have been so consistent all season and have really worked hard.
