With every minute, I was buying time for the runners.

Every one of my top seven runners had their best time of the year tonight. Our three through five runners dropped a full minute. That's where our boys program was at four years ago.

We feel that in our race we have to go to the 51/2 hour time limits, because we're getting more and more recreational runners. Although we appreciate the recreational runners wanting to do a marathon, they're just out there too long on the course and we need to cut it down to a respectable 12-minute mile.

We're more organized this year. Last year we didn't know who was the head coach until the last minute. This year we've had more time to prepare. I hope all the runners have a lot more fundamentals and more

training. I hope they're more efficient runners this year.

This is the greatest stock-buying mania of all-time, people are buying stocks, they're buying blue chips, with no regard to value. We just can't seem to get the big hit at the right time. We are struggling with driving runners home. That second game, we left a lot of runners on. We just can't do that and expect to beat good teams.

For the tie-breaker, we go to the books and it's broken down into runners to third, runners to second, runners to first and hits. We were tied at third base 5-5, then won it 7-5 at second.

If you have two runners of equal quality, the one who's running all the time will perform better. It hurts them in terms of running, but I never expected any more. Running is their second choice. If they had to choose, they would choose the other sport. Of course, we'd like them to be full-time runners, but they are doing well.
